Musical Background Patrick Lejewaan

Motto: Music making with lots of freedom and improvisation.

I was born in the Terletstraat. This street has a special musical history, I’m of the opinion there’s some sort of musical vibe in the grounds there.

At the age of 4 I started hitting some keys and thought: Hey, this is fun!! Since then I couldn’t be dragged away from the black-and-white keys!! I’ve had private lessons from Mr. Angelier from age 7 till 17. He was especially considering his age, around 70ish- quite interested in lighter music. And so side from the classic piano lessons he left me enough room to focus on lighter music too.

In the course of the years I started to do more and more; aside from my favorite instrument, the piano, I developed an interest in Synthesizers, Hammond, Rhodes, Guitar Keyboard and computers. When I was 17 the parties started. Music making everywhere, especially in my home town of The Hague. Aside from bands and sessions I also went around to play on the piano in malls, department stores (Bijenkorf) and at receptions.

At the moment I’m focusing my attention on projects. At home I compose for my own website and every now and then I play at various sessions / super sessions.

I am the kind of person that looks for a lot of freedom in making music with ever more professionalism. I am interested in a lot of different styles.

I could write on about performances, the people I met musically, my role models, the tobacco store I’ve had since 1997, but it’s much more fun to find all that info on my web site. So feel free to look around!
